Teach not our children the UNDENIABLE FALSEHOOD

A MUSLIM STUDENT'S DIALOGUE WITH HIS PARENTS

http://www.mostmerciful.com

A STUDENT TO HIS FATHER:

Today, my science teacher brought a mobile model of our Universe with its Sun, Moon and the Planets in our class room. It was fun to watch our Earth spinning on its own axis and at the same time also around the orbit of our Sun. When our side of the Earth faces the Sun we have the Day, and the people living on the other side of the Earth have Night. This alternating Light and Darkness within a Day has been the eternal Law of the Nature.

FATHER TO HIS SON:

Yes, but that eternal Law of the Nature is going to change one of this days. I have heard from our learned Muslim Scholars and the Imams that some 1400 years ago, our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him), reported before his companions that this Law of the Nature will suddenly change. Based upon authoritative books of Hadeeths (the reported Prophetic Sayings), every night after the sunset our Sun goes (travels) underneath the Throne of Allah. Here it gets the permission by Allah (S.W.T.) to rise again, after it had prostrated. There are several Prophetic Narrations composed by various compilers of the Sayings that do record of this sudden change. One night the Sun's prostration will not be accepted by Allah. It will not get the permission to continue its journey on its course and rise from the East. Allah will Command the Sun to go back from whence it has come and to rise from the West. From that day onwards the Sun will continue to rise from the West instead of East. When the people living on this earth will see this thing happen, they all will have faith in Islam. But, the faith of only those Believers who had their belief in Islam before that event and repented will be accepted.

  (Source Documents for verification, numbers as per the Computer Disk - ALIM: Al Bukhari Book 4: 421; 6: 159 - 160; 9: 520 and Muslim's Hadeeths numbers 1248, 1288, 1289).

THE EXCITED SON TO HIS FATHER:

Abu, do you know when this Great Event will occur?

FATHER'S RESPONSE:

We are only informed that this Great Event will happen SUDDENLY without any prior warning. If anyone of us is alive, he or she will see the Rising of the Son from the West. But, it will do no good to a soul that has not believed in this report before it occurs.

(Sahih Bukhari 8: 513 and 9: 237. Sahih Muslim 1352, 1372, 1377. Similar reports are also recorded in Hadeeth Books compiled by Abu-Dawood and Al-Tirmidhi. Notably, all these composers were contemporaries, lived in Persia and died between 260 and 279 A.H.).

THE ENTHUSED SON TO HIS FATHER:

I am eager to tell my science teacher and all my class mates of this Great Revelation! They will be surprised and excited to hear details. Some may pass strange remarks but many will ask questions about Islam and our Beloved Prophet Muhammad's History.

THE SHOCKED MOTHER INTERVENES:

My son, this is not the Revealed Text from Allah (S.W.T.). There are several verses of the Glorious Qur'an that explicitly warn us that the Knowledge of the UNSEEN and of the FUTURE is KNOWN to Allah ALONE. As for example here is Verse 20 of Surah Yunus (10): Then say (O' Muhammad): "Allah Alone has the knowledge of the Unseen..."  The Book of Allah has NOT given us the Knowledge of this Great Event. Unless, there is a clear support from the Qur'an I suggest you NOT to speak of these re-narrated reports in the name of the Prophet to anyone, not even to Muslim class mates.

SON TO HIS MOTHER:

It seems that you and Abu (Father) are on two different wavelengths. Why is that so!!!

MOTHER:

My Dear Son, if there were TWO CONTRADICTORY things I can only suggest you to ACCEPT ONE out of the two, but not BOTH with the same full faith. Can I do that? NO...

a) If we were to BELIEVE that the Prophet "ALSO" had the Knowledge of the "UNSEEN", then in all sincerity we have knowingly ignored or suppressed the crucial word "ALONE" from the Allah's Revealed Text. HE did nor reveal I and my Prophet have the Knowledge of the Unseen.

b) If we were to Believe with full faith that the above reported Knowledge of the Great Event was Revealed by Allah Himself to His Prophet, but the Prophet had not dictated it as the Revealed Qur'anic Text is to claim that the Final Messenger of Allah had failed in his mission to deliver every thing that was Revealed for the mankind in this Final Book. In view of a stern warning from Allah, the Prophet could not, would not and did not do that:

"O Rasool! Deliver the Message which has been revealed to you from your Rabb, and if you do not, you are not doing justice to your mission."  Qur'an 5: 67.

SON TO HIS MOTHER:

I now get the clear picture. In this century of Space Travel these Re-Reported Narrations collected centuries later of our SUN RISING FROM THE WEST do sound like the ludicrous pagan beliefs being recorded as the Prophetic Sayings. Was not the Prophet sent to Arabia to eradicate the ridiculous Pagan Beliefs of the Idol Worshippers?

My next question is for Abu. "Do you think I should propagate these LUDICROUS HADEETHS that challenge the obvious to my class mates?"

FATHER:

My Dear Son: The phrase "LUDICROUS HADEETH" (Ar. Lahw al-Hadeethi) reminds me of the following Revealed Text from the Glorious Qur'an Surah Luqman (31); 6 & 7: "But there are among men those who purchase ludicrous Hadeeths (Lahw al-Hadeethi) without knowledge (of its authenticity) and mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Allah's Path): for such there will be a humiliating Penalty. When Our Signs are rehearsed to such a one he turns away in arrogance as if he heard them not as if there were deafness in both his ears: announce to him a grievous Penalty. My Son if you disregard the Hadeeth for the lack of knowledge for its authenticity, nether the Prophet nor the Allah will punish you. But if you were to propagate a "falsehood" in the name of the Prophet, you may be punished. And, we as your parents may be questioned on the Day of Judgment for not guiding you to TRUTH. I fully agree, that the verses quoted by your Mother cannot be overlooked or set aside by a secondary or secondhand text. Allah the All Knowing has commanded us:

"and shun every word that is false"  Qur'an 22: 30.

SON TO THE PARENTS:

Today, I have learnt an important lesson. NOT ALL THE FUTURISTIC NARRATION COMPOSED IN THE NAME OF THE PROPHET BE REGARDED AS TRUE, UNLESS SUPPORTED BY THE QUR'AN.
